About You and This Role

This role is for a Senior Pilot Plant Technician at the Polyolefins Process R&D facility in South Charleston, WV. In this role, you will work as part of a Team to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the pilot plant facility through specialty maintenance and project support. 

This role required that you gain proficiency through on-the-job training and experience. You need either deep skills in this discipline or knowledge of a range of processes, procedures, and systems. You also need a broad understanding of the job and know how to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks. You should understand how your team works with others to accomplish objectives and be able to exchange detailed, complicated information with other team members.


Responsibilities:

• Manages and support project work including electrical and control system distribution design, specification and fabrication
• Write SWP's and perform lock out/tag out, mentors lower level technicians on the use of these standards
• Performs tasks assigned to operations as per Master Task List (e.g. Field checks, equipment preparation, etc.)
• Uses trouble shooting skills to resolve process related and equipment deviations and problems.
• Participates in Root Cause Investigations
• Leads the layout, design and specification of electrical and control system wiring distribution systems
• Uses instrumentation and mechanical knowledge and skills to make improvements in plant reliability performance by identification of plant improvement
• Performs process and control system equipment troubleshooting, repairs, improvements and preventative maintenance
• Supports plant turn arounds and special projects
• Trains other technicians on electrical and control system distribution projects
• Completes all assigned training per facility training plan

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of High School Diploma.
• A minimum of 10 years chemical plant maintenance experience supporting piping and tubing design and installation.
• A minimum of 10 years planning, installing conduit tubing and wiring.
• A minimum of 10 years sizing and specifying transformers, starters, disconnects, heaters and fuses according to NEC specifications.
• A minimum of 4 years rebuilding and overhauling of Sundyne LMV or LMC-311 compressors.
• A minimum of 4 years rebuilding and overhauling of Bran+Luebbe positive displacement pumps.
• Trained and certified to operate mobile man lift equipment such as JLG.
• A minimum of 4 years performing loop checks and calibration of Rosemount / Emerson transmitters.
• A minimum of 4 years calibrating Drager oxygen and LEL meters.
• A minimum of 7 years' experience with the troubleshooting and wiring of PLC I/O cards.
• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
