Senior R&D Training Coordinator at Dow

About you and this role

The Training Coordinator position provides training support for pilot plant facility. The role works directly with technicians and engineers in pilot plant and lab to assist with training of personnel to meet safety compliance requirements as well as technology specific skill sets and knowledge.  Works with the group to maintain safe and proficient delivery from research personnel via continuous learning programs developed through role specific skills and experience.

A significant aspect of the training coordinator role involves ownership of the overall facility training strategy. Training coordinator will be responsible for aligning the facility's documentation and training plans with this strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing training plans for lab and pilot plant to maintain compliance with all safety and role-based training requirements.
  • Ensures all required employee training records are up-to-date and maintained. Tracks compliance and communicates overdue training to deliver 100% training compliance.
  • Works with management of change (MOC) owners to ensure that training related requirements are achieved.
  • Manages creation of and maintains In-Plant Training Modules for pilot plants
  • Facilitates and owns Training Review Board processes for pilot plants
  • Provides hands-on role-based training and mentoring for new employees in labs and pilot plants.
  • Participates in training coordinator network to ensure facilities are up to date with all corporate requirements.
  • Engages in on-boarding of new employees and contractors into the plant/department
  • Serves as the lab owner, ensuring lab practices, equipment, and work processes are aligned to ISO 9001
  • Promotes and champions plant initiatives and learning sessions related to operational skills and knowledge

Qualifications

Must have one of the following:

  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in Process Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent
  • Associates Degree + 3 or more years of prior training experience

Additional Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years in manufacturing related role is required
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing practices and safety protocols
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
