As the Facilities General Hand Officer you’ll help us connect a more sustainable energy future for more than five million Queenslanders and 253,000 businesses. Your work with us is about every light turned on, every community connected, and every future made possible.
As a Facilities General Hand Officer you will provide support to the management of the delivery of day-to-day and reactive maintenance and longer-term facility management across Powerlink Queensland. The role consists of ‘hands on’ repairs, maintenance, ensuring that our facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
⦁ Execute a diverse range of maintenance and repair tasks, demonstrating proficiency in various areas such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting.
⦁ Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulations during all maintenance and repair activities.
⦁ Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail in identifying and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
⦁ Work autonomously, efficiently managing task prioritisation and time allocation to ensure timely completion of assignments.
⦁ Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and supervisors, providing updates on project statuses and seeking clarification when necessary.
⦁ Exhibit physical endurance and agility to undertake manual labor tasks, sustaining high performance throughout extended work periods.
Based in our Virginia office you will work under the supervision of the Team Leader Workplace Operations and provide general facilities management services across our corporate facilities.
⦁ Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role.
⦁ Knowledge of building materials, maintenance and repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, fittings, and locks.
⦁ Proficiency in a variety of maintenance and repair tasks.
⦁ Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
⦁ Good communication and interpersonal skills.
