As a Risk Manager you will lead a central Risk Management team who deploy and improve Risk Management across Submarines. Working in the Customer and Commercial team, working closely with business leaders and risk coordinators throughout the business.

What you will be doing:

You will ensure that accountabilities and expectations are clearly understood within the team.

• Discuss business performance and identify areas for improvement and develop and simplify Submarines risk management in line with Group requirements.
• Manage the deployment of change (policies, IT systems, requirements) into the business through the Risk Leads in each DBU.
• Identify and facilitate professional development among the Risk Leads,
• Confirm compliance to the Submarines Risk Management Process and integrate risk management into functional processes.
• Manage the cycle of Submarines Risk Committees / Business Risk Reviews, eliciting, interpreting and combining risk information from across the business.
• Act as secretary to the Business Risk Review, maintaining Terms of Reference, producing reports, minutes and other supporting material.
• Maintain the Submarines Risk Register in ARM, reflecting the status of risks throughout the organisation and produce supporting risk reports and metrics for the Submarines business, including analyses of incidents and assessments of risk controls.
• Maintain a comprehensive and up to date 'map' of risk management maturity throughout the Submarines business and escalate risk information to RRSL Board, Defence Sector, RR Group as required, and support legitimate customer or third party requests for high level risk information (including working with internal functions to support risk-based assurance, control and audit activity),

• Demonstrated ability to bring about change through influence.
• Sound understanding of the programme management and business drivers.
• Understanding of the Rolls-Royce risk and business continuity processes.
• Experience of managing a high performing team.
• Institute of Risk Management accreditation is desirable but not essential.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
