Role Overview

This is a 1-year placement and we’re seeking a Computer Science (or similar) student to join us. 

The HMI software team designs, develops, and tests the front-end software for our Track and Laboratory based products. The work includes designing and implementing modern UI controls for our tool chain and implementing tools to help our users get the most out of our market leading products. The successful student would work with and assist engineers working in the above areas to help them meet technical deliverables in a timely manner. 

What will you be doing?

• Design and create new features / functionality in our main software suite 
• Help to design and develop new tools make debugging our systems more intuitive, enhancing user experience 
• Assist lead developers to design future generation of products and interfaces 
• Collaborate with other developers and stakeholders 
• Debugging and solving problems, and issuing rapid solutions 

What are we looking for?

• On-track to graduate inside the next 2 years in a relevant science or engineering discipline – including, but not limited to, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Software Engineering 
• Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English 
• Ability to build a rapport with others 
• Strong A-level's (or equivalent) in Maths and Physics are desirable 
• Further experience of software development outside of academic studies, in particular C# / WPF, is desirable
