Role Overview 

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain an Engineering Degree qualification, whilst working within the AB Dynamics Engineering Design Team, specialising in Embedded Software Development and Electrical and Electronic Design, through the degree Apprenticeship scheme, which consists of: 

• Completion of a 5-year BEng (Hons) Electronic and Computer Engineering Degree (first 3 years at Gloucestershire College, final 2 years at University of West of England)
• Work week split: 1 day at college/university and 4 days working at AB Dynamics. 

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet customer needs and industry regulatory requirements. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to ensure seamless integration of solutions into our products.  

What will you be doing?

• Resolve complex design problems, prepare concept designs, and produce complete systems and/or products utilising primary embedded and electronic design. 
• Define, design, and implement software architectures, ensuring high performance and real-time capabilities and ensures their safe operation. 
• Define and implement software standard processes and practices for development and deployment. 
• Ensure software safety and security compliance with industry standards and regulations in collaboration with the Systems Engineering Team. 

What are we looking for?

• Entry criteria - 5 GCSEs at grade 9 - 4 or A* - C including maths, English and science, technology or engineering and A Levels at grade C or above in both a mathematical based subject and a science, tech, engineering or additional mathematics related subject, or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC. 
• Learners must have the equivalent to 112 UCAS points. 
• A passion for Engineering; electronics, software, and embedded design with good analytical skills. 
• Creativity and a determination to succeed are key attributes for this role.
