Founded in 2018, Skyports is an Advanced Air Mobility company developing and operating landing infrastructure for the electric air taxi revolution, as well as using drones for a variety of business requirements.

 

Our business is comprised of two entities:

Skyports Drone Services where we use drone technology to enable businesses to develop their logistics, capture key data, and improve operational efficiency. We are active in the rural deliveries, survey, surveillance and maritime verticals.

Skyports Infrastructure where we play a critical role in the Urban Air Mobility ecosystem; designing, building, owning, and operating vertiports that enable eVTOL operators to take off and land in and around cities across the world.

Role Description

As Training Manager | Drones, you can expect to cover the following activities and responsibilities:

 

Training Needs Analysis

  • Conduct a thorough needs analysis to identify the specific training requirements for drone operators, maintenance staffinvolves, and support staff. This analysis should consider the latest regulations, technology updates, and the unique challenges of providing global drone services.

 

Curriculum Development

  • Create a comprehensive training curriculum that covers all aspects of operating and maintaining drones across a range of operating environments around the world. This will include generic ground school modules on flight safety, navigation, etc.,maintenance staff,, maintenance as well as technical and operational training, including theory, simulations, mission planning, and operational execution.

 

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that the training program incorporates the latest regulations and compliance standards relevant to drone operations in different countries and regions. This includes country-specific programmeprogramme aviation authorisation regulationsauthorization worldwide and equivalent regulations in other countries.

 

Simulators and Hands-On Training

  • Implement drone simulator training to provide trainees with a safe and controlled environment to practice their skills before operating real drones. Hands-on training with actual drones is crucial to buildingpractise practical experience.

 

Safety Training

  • Emphasise safety protocols and procedures, including emergency response plans, to ensure that all team members understand and can follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and mishaps.

 

Technology Training

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest drone technology and software that can enhance training.

 

Geographical an Environmental Training

  • Depending on the service areas, provide training on the unique geographical and environmental challenges that drone operators may encounter, such as extreme weather conditions, restricted airspace, or challenging terrainand.

 

Customer Service Training

  • Develop customer service and communication skills for drone operators, especially in the case of drone delivery services where interaction with customers may be required.

 

Continuous Learning

  • Establish a culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging drone operators and other flight operations staff to stay updated with changes to training, updates in technology, operational lessons learned, etc.

 

Assessments and Certifications

  • Implement a regular assessment and evaluation strategy to ensure that trainees are meeting the required standards. Provide certifications upon successful completion of training and maintain the Training Management System to accurately reflect staff training records.

 

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed records of training programmes and performance evaluations. Generate regular reports to monitor the progress of trainees and identify areas that may need further attention.

 

Collaboration with External Partners

  • Collaborate with industry organisations, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders to stay informed about the latest developments in drone technology and regulations.

 

Training Content Creation

  • Develop a Learning managementlearning system to deliver theory training on generic and platform-specific topics.

Requirements

Candidate Profile

The ideal person for this position will have the following experiences and attributes:

 

Sector

  • We are looking for someone who has experience working across a technical industry, e.g., transportation or energy industries, but this is not essential.

Technologies

  • Experience with flying, operating, and handling remote drone equipment.
  • Experience with LMS software and practises

Past Experiences

  • Experience within a training and/or development role where you will have been responsible for training materials, documentation, and creating content for training.
  • Experienced in delivering training sessions to small or large groups of people.

 

Documentation Quality

  • Previous experience of being responsible for the quality of documentation and amendments.

Problem Solving

  • Is able to demonstrate work-related experience in solving complex problems and taking initiative.

Structured

  • Proficient at creating well-structured Word documents and presentations.

Communication

  • Excellent communication skills are essential. You will be working in a team that moves fast, and decisions need to be communicated efficiently, effectively, and with direction.
