About the position

The Health & Safety Manager plays a crucial role within the organisation by driving the organisation’s commitment to continuous improvement in workplace health and safety. This role is responsible for reviewing our current safety management plans, policies and procedures and implementing new programs to improve our safety standards. This role works in partnership with operational leaders and managers to drive excellence in our safety practices.

The focus for this position is to:

·         Conduct internal safety audits

·         Conducts health and safety training sessions

·         Review of safety management systems

·         Certification of ISO45001

·         Implement improvements across policies and procedures

·         Collaborates and support senior leaders on the implementation of safety standards and responsibilities

·         Promotes safety leadership

·         Ensure WHS & regulatory compliance

·         Oversee investigation of incidents

·         Liaise with the Return to work Coordinator

·         Develops and recommends safety initiatives

About you

·         Must have completed tertiary education safety related or chemicals

·         Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organisation

·         Strong stakeholder management

·         Previous experience in a similar role

·         Previous experience in ISO450001
