    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Toll manufacturing Scheduler & Junior Active Ingredient Supply Chain Planner in Manchester. The role is responsible for maintaining the detailed Active Ingredient (AI) supply plans across one or more defined tollers and product portfolio, providing options to meet upsides or downsides. This professional will also be responsible for maintaining agreed service levels of the business by managing the end-to-end supply chain for some active ingredient, providing options to meet commercial upsides and downsides.

    You will be responsible for the stakeholder management (3rd party service provider, commercial, supply chain managers, sourcing) & teamwork with regional planning.

    Responsibilities/accountabilities will include (but are not limited to): 

    • Ensure efficient use of the end-to-end inventory whilst minimising working capital. For tolled products, support AI Supply Chain Planner on this activity.
    • Adherence to planning and forecasting processes, optimize use of systems to reflect the most likely to happen scenario and support scenario-planning exercises.
    • Ensure timely execution of the yearly reconciliation process with tollers.
    • Support TMS knowledge management. Maintain appropriate Toll Manufacturing Scheduling (TMS) documentation, including trainings for newcomers.
    • Set up new tollers as required.
    • Ensure technical support and training is provided to external parties (i.e. Cap Gemini) as required.
    • Manage the overall supply/demand balance for the selected AIs by reviewing the sales forecast, (AI) net demands, and then creating balanced production/purchase plans for the planning horizon. For tolled products, work with AI SCP and tollers to ensure implantation of agreed plans.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with toller(s) to enable transparency and optimization of capacity and materials usage.
    • Proactively identify demand uncertainties and future supply constraints to develop options/scenarios, ensuring that future supply plans are optimized.
    • Provide operational coordination across the end-to-end supply chain to achieve the right balance between inventory and customer service levels
    • Utilize financial metrics to support the optimization of cash management when managing trade-offs between inventory, production, purchases, and logistics decisions
    • Drive the yearly tolling reconciliation process and provide these to required stakeholders (internal/external auditors, finance team, etc). Organize and run reconciliation meetings as needed.
    • Develop and periodically review TMS related work instructions. Develop training materials and train newcomers in tolling and planning activities.
    • Provide regular technical support to Capgemini and support in issues resolution. Develop and maintain Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) for processes executed by 3rd Party (i.e. Cap Gemini); provide training as required.

    • Degree or equivalent in Business, Logistics, Science or Engineering.
    • 1-3 years of experience in a supply chain planning environment
    • Focus on cost optimisation and ability to manage differentiated supply chains
    • Understanding of Supply Chain Planning processes
    • SAP/APO knowledge
    • ERP and manufacturing processes knowledge
    • Fluent in English (written & spoken)
    • Highly responsive with the ability to prioritise
    • Ability to translate system figures and market insights into workable plans
    • Ability to communicate in a concise and timely manner
    • The ability to understand and reconcile conflicting objectives
    • Team player, able to work across functional boundaries and cultures
    • Able to challenge and discuss issues at various levels of the organisation

    Additional Information

    Site Details 

    The role is based in our Global Operations Centre in Manchester. This is a hybrid contract, with a minimum 2 days per week to be worked in the office, with remote working available for the remainder of the week (for the first few months, there may be a requirement to spend up to 3 days per week onsite). The site is a local hub for worldwide operations, ensuring growers, globally, have access to the right product at the right time.
