We are searching for a talented and experienced Senior Python Engineer to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in developing and maintaining our APIs and data feeds, which are essential for delivering our services to our partners and customers worldwide.

We are part of a global team, but this role is based in the UK at our London office, which is a short walk from London Bridge. Parkopedia maintains a flexible location policy (hybrid) but the role will require a proportion of time to be spent at the London office which can be discussed during the interview process.

Responsibilities:

This role requires expertise in building and maintaining critical infrastructure. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and robust APIs using Python and related technologies. We implement efficient data retrieval and transformation processes to ensure high-quality data delivery through these APIs. 

All code we  produce must be clean, well-documented, and maintainable, adhering to best practices and coding standards. To guarantee smooth operation for our customers, we operate a culture where our developers monitor and troubleshoot performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Beyond technical expertise, collaboration is key. We work closely with product managers to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Our teams  collaborate effectively, and foster a supportive and open environment.  

Experience mentoring and supporting junior developers is a plus, as our Senior Developers help build their capabilities and confidence.

Requirements

• Worked in multiple, complex production environments as  a Python engineer, with proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying APIs using Python frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django, FastAPI).
• Solid understanding of web development principles (HTTP, RESTful APIs) and data structures.
• Experience with data retrieval, transformation, and manipulation techniques using Python and tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Commercial experience with AWS and IaC (Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation)
• Applicable understanding of API security, common exploits and secure development practices, including the OWASP Top 10.
