Framestore’s Immersive Division is a dedicated team within one of the world's largest VFX studios - combining exciting IP and cutting-edge technologies to create never-before-seen experiences and deliver them to audiences around the world across a wide variety of immersive platforms. The Immersive department in London is looking to fill a mid-level Environment Artist position. We are looking for somebody to create various different styles of digital environments for a high-end games-adjacent immersive project. What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Environment Artist, Art Director and Realtime Supervisors to achieve the creative vision of the client and the technical requirements of the project

  • Participate actively in the team and project reviews and ensure feedback from reviews is appropriately addressed

  • Contribute to the ongoing development and testing of Environments tools, pipelines and workflows for the current project and Immersive team as a whole

  • Participate in project reviews to help develop & integrate solutions to the problems identified in them

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable experience working at a high level creating Environment Art in the Games or equivalent industry

  • High proficiency in Unreal Engine 4/5

  • Technical experience and working knowledge of the content creation pipeline (modelling, UV, texturing, lighting, and materials)

  • Deep understanding of modular environment creation for buildings and assets

  • Able to take creative direction

  • Working in partnership with other departments to ensure the highest possible standard

  • Professional experience with Project Management tools such as Shotgrid, Jira, and Confluence

  • Strong knowledge on both organic and hard surface modelling/sculpting/texturing

  • General best practices in video game asset creation

  • Vegetation creation for realtime is a huge bonus.

You might also have:

  • Previous experience working with a VFX pipeline

  • Previous experience working with Linux OS

  • Experience using Houdini and/or other procedural asset creation tools
