The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years.

Purpose of the role:

The News Editor oversees RA's news section. It's the News Editor's responsibility to cover breaking news in the world of dance music, from industry happenings to major festivals, as well as overseeing the delivery of longer news features and investigative pieces. In addition to writing and editing regular news pieces, the News Editor will manage a small team of staff writers in London, Berlin and New York. The News Editor decides what is and isn't appropriate for coverage, and is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with PR firms, labels, promoters and artists, with the ultimate goal of providing readers with a relevant, timely and reliable news service. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to other areas of editorial content across the site, including written features, reviews and Exchanges.

Key responsibilities:

• Sourcing news stories from around the globe
• Writing and editing news pieces 
• Building and maintaining relationships with PR firms, labels, artists and promoters, as well as internal staff working across RA's commercial departments.
• Plan and oversee developments and innovations in RA news
• Professionally representing the RA brand at all times
• Sharing news posts on social media, including X and Facebook
• Contribute Exchanges, reviews and features
  
  

We're looking for:

• Experience writing and editing news
• Strong understanding of electronic music 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using social media to share news stories
• Experience managing a team
• High level of attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise demands and meet deadlines

This role is a permanent fixed-term contract and the expected salary is $65,000-$70,000.
