WHAT THE ROLE DELIVERS 

The Senior Cost Accountant will direct, coordinate, and control financial-related activities at the Bay City, TX manufacturing site. This role includes product costing, budgeting, reporting, cost center monitoring, variance analysis and monthly closing activities for the Bay City plant. This role will also perform all cost accounting duties for the Fortier, LA site until site closure in 2025. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

• Perform month-end close activities – variance analysis, cost center accruals, cost center review.  

• Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor and overhead vs budgets and provide regular analysis to management. 

• Ensure proper inventory controls and verification; standard costing (production rates, BOM’s and overheads), monthly/annual counts.  

• Monthly inventory balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring a full understanding of monthly movements in stock. 

• Review moving average material prices. 

• Maintain accounting and costing views of the master data of materials. 

• Coordinate development with site management of the annual financial budget. 

• Collaborate with corporate finance team on financial reporting and analysis. 

• Perform other accounting activities in support of Roehm America including Inventory reserves, balance sheet analysis, internal & external audit requests, ect. 

• Drive and ensure site compliance to internal and external audit policies. 

• Participate in safety and housekeeping programs as required. 

• Participate in staff/production meetings with Operations as requested. 

• Travel up to 5% yearly. 

• This is a hybrid position with the expectation to be onsite at the Bay City Site 50%.  

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. 

• Minimum 10 Years of  Cost Accounting experience. 

• Technical proficiency in SAP system. 

• Proficiency with Excel & PowerPoint. 

• Strong communication & leadership skills.
