As an Order Selector , you will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations by accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment. You will be responsible for retrieving products from storage locations, assembling orders according to specifications, and ensuring that orders are complete, accurate, and properly packaged for delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Order Picking: Use an order picking system (e.g., voice picking, RF scanner) to accurately locate, select, and retrieve products from storage locations within the warehouse. Follow pick lists, work orders, or other instructions to assemble customer orders, ensuring that the correct quantity and type of products are picked.
Quality Assurance: Inspect products for damage, defects, or discrepancies during the picking process. Verify product codes, lot numbers, and expiration dates to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements. Report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors or quality control personnel.
Packaging and Labeling: Pack selected items into boxes, cartons, or containers according to order specifications. Apply labels, packing slips, and other shipping documentation to packages as required. Use appropriate packaging materials and techniques to ensure that orders are secure and protected during transit.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records by recording product movements, adjustments, and counts in the warehouse management system (WMS) or inventory management software. Perform cycle counts, stock replenishment, and other inventory control tasks as directed.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others. Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts) safely and follow proper lifting and handling techniques. Comply with company policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to order picking and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as an order selector, picker/packer, or similar role in a warehouse environment preferred.
Familiarity with order picking systems and warehouse management software is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret pick lists, work orders, and product labels.
Attention to detail and accuracy in picking and packing orders.
Physical stamina and the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
