LEGAL
We are an award-winning full service in-house Legal, Ethics and Compliance function. We're based in the UK, Portugal, China, Italy, UAE and the US. We provide leadership and advice on strategic projects across all business units, whilst developing our role as an integrated partner within the business to make sure FARFETCH goes from strength to strength.

LONDON
Our office is located in Old Street, London's tech hub. With an open-plan space, ideal for collaborative working, an outdoor terrace for a team lunch, or a dedicated studio for a yoga class.

THE ROLE 
Reporting directly to the Senior Head of Ethics and Compliance and Enterprise Risk, you will be a key contributor to the execution and evolution of FARFETCH’s Global Ethics & Compliance Program.  You will enjoy a broad compliance role, delivering high-quality legal advice and services, with a focus on complex matters across multiple regions. Acting as a true business partner, this role requires someone hands-on and commercially minded, with a strong professional ethic and the energy, interest, and training to pursue a broad array of compliance topics. This is a highly visible and exciting role in a well-regarded, dynamic, and growing team. This senior position will be responsible for carrying out vital activities that enable effective risk management and proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop and maintain policies, and procedures, and optimize related processes 
  • Provide solutions on compliance-related topics, and conduct training at all levels within the business 
  • Be the key point of contact for the business  and manage our compliance management system, including analyzing disclosures (e.g., gifts, hospitality, and conflicts of interest) and third-party risk management 
  • Design and develop innovative communication, guidance, and training materials and update and review them when required
  • Proactively assist in the implementation of new software/systems and associated processes 
  • Promote our Speak Up line, conduct investigations, and liaise with external counsel as necessary
  • Develop fit-for-purpose controls to evaluate the effectiveness of our program
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Contribute to the company's Ethics & Compliance strategy 
  • Actively participate in the ongoing development and improvement of the E&C program by identifying gaps and areas for improvement through streamlining processes

WHO YOU ARE

  • A qualified lawyer with 3-5 years’ PQE, preferably with in-house compliance experience working in compliance
  • Compliance-related certifications (e.g. CFE, CCEP-I, ACAMS) is a plus
  • Experienced in executing an Ethics & Compliance program including risk assessments, policies/procedures, training, and third-party management
  • Knowledgeable on topics such as anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, fraud, sanctions, and third-party risk
  • An analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems
  • Experience in drafting, and communicating complex requirements and can advise internal stakeholders in a manner consistent with the strategic goals and values of the business
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to contribute to and achieve multi-faceted projects, in a global context
  • A self-starter who can put your mark on new and existing initiatives never settle for the status quo and strive for continuous improvement
