We’re looking for a Quality Controller to join our team in Spalding
**This is a day shift role, working a continental shit pattern**

Our Quality Controllers are responsible for conducting thorough inspections of fruit and stock upon arrival, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications. The role involves managing and conducting various fruit sampling activities to support trials, shelf-life studies, and product development initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high quality standards and support continuous improvement efforts within our organisation.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensure quality and compliance by thoroughly checking incoming fruits against specifications using standardized tools.
• Record inspection findings, generate reports, and escalate critical issues for prompt resolution.
• Collect, prepare, store, and perform basic quality tests on fruit samples.
• Monitor and report yield and defect data for analysis and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist in developing new QC technologies, prepare samples for lab analysis, and manage fruit for R&D projects.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent quality control practices across all sites.
• Assist the technical team with various quality control activities as needed.
• Contribute to maintaining consistent product quality and adherence to regulations.
• Taking responsibilities for your own and others health & safety.
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are always maintained.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a quality control or related role, preferably within the fresh produce industry.
• Proven experience in conducting inspections of incoming raw materials according to established quality standards and procedures.
• Experience with using basic quality control tools and equipment, such as firmness gauges and refractometers.
• Valid UK driving license,
• A strong understanding of quality control principles and their application in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify potential quality issues during inspections.
• A demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, technical teams, and external surveyors.
• A commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
