To strengthen our North America Manufacturing Operations team, we are looking for a

 

 

 

Quality Systems & Project Specialist (QS/PS)

 

 

 

ROLE

 

 

 

Responsible for supporting our corporate Quality Management System and other diverse Project Specialist duties.  Position will be based in our Springfield, VA operation.

Position relies on leadership and influence skills to lead the company’s quality efforts. Concurrently, this position will be responsible for planning and overseeing MO (Manufacturing Operations) small to medium-sized projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. This will include planning and designating project resources, preparing budgets, monitoring progress, and keeping stakeholders informed the entire way.  Familiarity with all aspects of a Quality System administration and maintaining a quality culture are also critical skillsets.

The QS/PS is a diverse position that utilizes robust verbal, written and investigative skills to conduct day to day activities that include auditing internal quality systems; writing standard operating procedures; and investigating the root cause of customer complaints and nonconforming products; support special projects and initiatives that foster a continuous improvement environment.  This position requires diplomacy, knowledge of quality system tools, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Conduct Corrective Action Report (CAR) investigations when customer complaints or non-conforming product occurs. Requires working with all levels of the company across departmental lines and multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Conduct Internal Audits to ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are accurate and that the current ISO 9001 standard is followed.
  • Apply statistical tools to assist in problem solving and trend analysis
  • Work with all departments of the company to produce and maintain concise and accurate SOPs following a standard format protocol.
  • Develop and deliver training on the Quality System, quality tools and other topics.

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict resources needed to reach project objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Track project costs to meet budget
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule based on scope of work plan and resource requirements
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

 

 

 

PROFILE

 

 

 

  • B.S. or B.A. Degree
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a Quality Systems or Project Manager role
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Minitab software, a plus
  • Certified ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor preferred
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Superior organization and project management skills
  • Keen sense of intellectual curiosity
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills and ability to link within multiple levels of the organization
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and delve beyond the obvious
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate results into solutions
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines on diverse projects
  • A self-starter who can work independently
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Microsoft proficient (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
