This Sr. Scientist position helps to execute the vision and roadmap for all product analytics with oversight and communicate analytics to customers in ways that build their confidence and trust. These accountabilities cut across a variety of situations, from implementation to ongoing customer success and product support. This position is also accountable for meeting project timelines and ensuring customer expectations are exceeded, not just met!
A Day In the Life
Work with customers to translate business issues and develop solutions
Formulate and apply modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, and operational mathematics techniques to estimate benefits from using analytical models
Apply multi-variable, complex statistical analysis on large data sets to gain useful insights into the data and detect trends and outliers/invalid data conditions present in the data sets
Interpret information that assists with decision-making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions
Present analysis, models, and insights to customers and internal groups
Who You Are
Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Operations Research, Economics, Engineering, or another applied mathematics discipline
3 years of relevant experience applying research to revenue or yield management issues
In lieu of a master's degree or the foreign equivalent, will accept a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent degree and 2 years of experience as stated
Must also have experience solving business problems using stochastic, heuristic or deterministic methodologies
Active listener who asks questions to ensure understanding of business problems and concerns
Possess strong functional knowledge in applied mathematics and statistics for designing algorithms to solve complex business problems
Knowledgeable in at least one analytical tool such as R, Python, or SQL to perform data analysis and model prototyping
Excel in a highly collaborative team environment with a diverse set of teams and perspectives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Intellectual curiosity, creative analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills
Ability to proactively manage multiple commitments and tasks
