Location

Superior Township, MI

Purpose

  • Analyze and audit the procedures of the North America Safety Office to ensure they are effective and efficient in enhancing vehicle safety. Based on findings and metric performance, lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement of safety processes and tools.
  • Analyze and audit preventive actions associated with the root causes of safety defects.

Major Responsibilities

  • Schedule and lead regular audits of North America Safety Office (NASO) procedures and processes.
  • Lead process improvement teams to drive continuous improvement of safety processes and tools.
  • Maintain standards for procedures. Communicate procedure changes and improvements to process owners and users in a timely manner.
  • Analyze NASO Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and organize monthly management review of performance and actions.
  • Audit efficacy of countermeasures implemented following root cause identification. Communicate status and findings on a regular basis. Drive improvement to address findings.
  • Exercise independent judgement to conduct on-site audits, if necessary.

Authority

  • Position requires attaining and maintaining a high level of knowledge about Hyundai North America Safety Office procedures to identify potential performance gaps.  This position will have access to Hyundai management, engineers and investigators needed to complete audits and analysis. 
  • This position will have a direct line to upper management to inform of critical issues identification.
  • Evaluate and validate countermeasures related to recall campaigns on safety matters.
    Liaise with Hyundai design, manufacturing, and supplier affiliates.

Education

~ Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, or a Science related to forensics or materials engineering.

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of experience directly related to auditing.
  • Experience applying problem solving tools:  Shainin Red X, Six Sigma, 8D, 5 Whys.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing data.
  • Two or more years of experience in the automotive business, in areas such as, vehicle safety, design, testing, field reliability evaluation, materials engineering, diagnostic laboratory, or service is preferred.
  • Automotive assembly plant or component manufacturing experience a plus.

 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Results-driven with excellent project and program management skills.
  • Ability to proactively collaborate with peers, technical experts, and leadership within the organization.
  • Ability to concurrently manage a range of projects in a timely manner.
  • Able to develop Dashboards in a data visualization tool (PowerBI,Tableau, similar).
  • Ability to present findings to others.

Certification

  • Technical problem-solving certification.

$86,800.00 - $124,000.00 Annual
