Job Title: Business Development Manager  

Position: Full-time, permanent

Location: London

Reporting to: Decarbonisation Business General Manager

 

Description of the Company:

Business Development Manager Role:

The Business Development Manager is expected to develop the carbon capture business mainly in the UK. MHI is a leader in large-scale deployment of post-combustion carbon capture and has been developing its proprietary technology since 1990. MHI’s carbon capture process has been the technology of choice at more than a dozen plant sites across the world including for the Petra Nova Project – the largest post-combustion carbon capture system in the world. The carbon capture industry is set to boom on a global scale, and especially in the UK with governmental policies encouraging the reduction of CO2 emissions from major point sources. The BD Manager will be expected to find opportunities, manage multiple projects, and align team members to secure new business and reach project completion. The position reports to the General Manager of the Decarbonisation Business Department.

 

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Identify and track project opportunities, analyse and determine feasibility
  • Lead client meetings and presentations; research and establish relationships with new clients
  • Document proposal management according to internal procedure
  • Work closely with engineers and other colleagues to build customer relations and convey cost effective technical solutions
  • Research and analyse impacts of regulations and incentives on customers.
  • Attend and present at industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends
  • Prepare internal reports, presentations, meeting notes, and provide feedback to management
  • Function as the Project Business Manager on specific projects as assigned
  • Prepare and/or assist with submission of pre-qualification and bid documents

 

Education and qualifications:

  • College degree required and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

 

Skills required:

  • Ability to grasp and willingness to learn technical concepts
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to simplify complicated concepts
  • Ability to develop new contracts, network and public speak
  • Strong research, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis
  • Familiarity with EPC projects and contracts
  • Ability to travel (both domestic and international) up to 20%

 

Prior experience:

Experience in carbon capture, chemical, oil and gas or power (utility) sector.

566 Chiswick High Road, Building 11, W4 5YA

 

Working Hours: 

7 hours, 5 days a week, 35 hours per week
