Your Responsibilities

 

As Manager, Solutions as a Service (SaaS) Infrastructure Strategy for Deere & Company World Headquarters located in Moline, IL, or Johnston, IA, you will be responsible for working across John Deere’s strategic business units with a global scope to understand the business needs and requirements for commercializing SaaS offers in all applicable markets.  This requires understanding product roadmaps, timelines, and priorities along with local laws, regulations, contracts, tax implications, and more to develop a strategy to enable our business goals.  Current company strategy, industry benchmarking, research, market trends, and other sources should be leveraged to develop innovative strategies.

 

  • Evaluate and determine impact of local rules, regulations, contracts, policies, and guidelines on the SaaS Infrastructure business requirements. 
  • Collaborate with business leadership and other functions to analyze research & trends, evaluate go to market strategies within our industries and benchmarks from other industries, and innovate new approaches to achieve our business objectives.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of a wide range of information gathering and stakeholder consultation activities and specify, negotiate, and agree on deliverables.
  • Establish priorities and gather the resources necessary to staff work teams.
  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and plans to identify relevant stakeholders, to create mutually supportive working relationships, and to ensure that each stakeholder has an appropriate share of voice.
  • Ensure risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints are managed appropriately.
  • Manage the strategy development and workstream plans to ensure all activities are identified, and appropriately organized and resourced to deliver project objectives.
  • Determine and manage all core tasks, process improvements, and requirements by affected functional area to ensure success of the SaaS business model in each local geography.
  • Provide project management expertise to multi-disciplined project teams.

  • Ability to communicate technical topics to non-technical executive team members to gain alignment to business strategies, allocation of resources, and update progress.
  • Knowledge of go to market strategies including licensing advanced software for precision technologies.
  • Understanding of financial terminology and concepts including revenue recognition, transfer pricing, taxation, operating profit, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively across functions and business units.
  • Advanced capability to prioritize work in the context of risks, activities, and stakeholders.
  • Proficient with change management principles and techniques.

What Makes You Stand Out

 

  • Strategic understanding of global software subscription/licensing business including an understanding of tax, accounting, and regulatory implications.
  • Knowledge of go to market strategies including licensing and sales of advanced software and subscriptions.
  • Experience leading a cross functional project team including representation from 7 or more functional areas.
  • Experience working in the agriculture or construction industries.

Education

 

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

 

  • Masters Degree or equivalent level experience in Business, Management, Technology, Agricultural Sciences or Agri Business, Marketing discipline
