The Quality Analyst assists with the research, verification, implementation and control of quality system procedures and documents.  In this role, you will work closely with the quality team to plan, facilitate, and execute quality continuous improvement projects/events.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in related area preferred or equivalent experience. 

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading and/or executing risk assessment activities such as FMEA, Fault Tree analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone analysis, etc.
• Highly skilled in statistical methods, Gage R&R, statistical process control, sampling plans and design of experiments.
• Experience with document control, auditing as well as practical understanding of batch sheet control and accounting.
• ISO or Global Food Safety Initiative system experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).

Responsibilities:  

Following prescribed guidelines and under general supervision, the Quality Analyst performs the following duties:

• Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), FSMA, Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.
• Maintain positive attitude and focus on the customer, teamwork, and quality productivity.  
• Give recommendations to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and to better serve the customer.
• Research quality system documentation to identify discrepancies and follow-up with appropriate departments to achieve resolution.
• Verify through auditing that quality system procedures and documents are accurate.
• Review quality/GMP/CCP records for completeness.
• Support record keeping on safety program.
• Create or modify quality system documents in partnership with department coordinators
• Support RCA & CAPA for customer complaints and execution/effectiveness, internal non-conformances & supporting FTR initiative
• Lead FTR team to identify opportunities for process improvement, waste removal, and cost reduction
• Recommend equipment, hand tools, processes, and procedures that help improve product safety & quality testing by conducting Gauge R&R Studies.
• Continuously improve processes on the production floor and within quality by collaborating with logistics, planning, procurement, SQM and QC
• Support BRC internal audit & 3rd party audit preparations.

General Working Environment:

In the laboratory, analysis involving the use of strong acids, bases, and corrosive materials. Some chemicals have been listed as potential health hazards necessitating the use of fume hoods, protective clothing and other devices. Hot plates and ovens which operate at elevated temperatures are also used. Some flammable liquids are present. Hot liquid samples of products will be present in the laboratory on a regular basis. A microwave drying oven is also used for testing of hydrated products. Inspections of the plant or audits of paperwork may take individuals out of the laboratory and into the plant or outside the building in inclement weather.

Personnel shall perform their duties consistent with cGMP, FDA and OSHA regulations.

Usual Physical Activities:

Through the course of a typical shift, an individual in this position will perform the following activities:

• Bends,
• Reaches above and below the shoulders,
• Corrected vision, speaking ability, and hearing are usually involved in performing written and verbal job functions.
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE.
