As part of our post-Series C growth, we’re excited to add a UI software engineer to our team. Reporting to the engineering manager on our Placement team, you will use modular, easily extensible Vue.js components to develop and improve client-facing features within our applications. Our tech stack uses a Ruby on Rails 7 RESTful API on the back-end with a Postgresql database; Vue.js, Pinia, Vue-router, Vite, Element UI, and Vitest are used on the front-end; Cypress is used for end-to-end testing; and all of our data and applications are hosted on AWS.

About the role

• Collaborate with visual/interaction designers, other engineers, and product owners to launch new products, iterate on existing features, and build world-class user experiences

• Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications using reusable, responsive UI components

• Write, test, document, and support efficient, reusable code

• Take ownership of products and features from concept to completion

• Participate in design and code reviews

• Assess new initiatives to determine the work effort and estimate the necessary time-to-completion

About you

• 3+ years UI/front-end development experience on an agile/scrum team

• Proactive and self-motivated problem solver with great verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with:

• Javascript testing frameworks like Cypress, Selenium, Vitest, Jest, etc.

• Modern JavaScript best practices including ES6+, callbacks, promises, async/await, etc.

• CSS3/SCSS and semantically correct HTML

• Version control systems (preferably Git)

• Single Page Application frameworks such as Vue, React, Angular, or Ember

• Integrating with REST APIs

• Nice to haves: 

• Experience with Vue.js

• Experience working with Javascript State Management Tools such as Pinia/Vuex/Redux/Flux

• Experience with CircleCI or similar CI/CD tooling

• Experience adhering to the Web Content Accessibility Standards (WCAG) 2.0

• Experience with development build tools such as Rollup.js or Vite
