What can you expect:

As a Senior Strategy Manager for Marsh McLennan Europe, you will be shaping the problems that we work on and developing specialized expertise that others will seek out. You will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development and execution of strategic initiatives across the region. You will work closely with senior leadership to define the strategic direction of the company and ensure its successful implementation. This position will report to the Marsh McLennan Europe Head of Strategy and involve close collaboration with Country, Practice, and Functional teams across the region and globe.

Successful applicants typically have enough experience to ask the right questions, frame hypotheses and initiate research to find the answers. This role will involve analysing market trends, evaluating business performance, and providing strategic recommendations to drive growth and competitive advantage. You should have experience in day-to-day leadership of complex initiatives, managing projects with tight deadlines, excel within a team environment, and establish and maintain strong business relationships.

This role is pitched at a grade G level and we are open to the successful candidate being based in the UK, Ireland or continental Europe.

We will rely on you to:

• Strategic planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine the company's strategic plan. Define goals, objectives, and action plans to drive business growth and achieve long-term success.
• Market analysis: Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
• Business performance evaluation: Evaluate financial and operational performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of current strategies. Identify areas for improvement and develop recommendations to optimize business performance.
• Strategic project management: Lead and oversee the execution of strategic projects and initiatives. Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure projects are completed on time.
• Stakeholder management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and functional teams, to align strategic objectives and ensure buy-in and support for strategic initiatives.
• Change management: Drive organizational change by effectively communicating strategic objectives, engaging employees, and facilitating the adoption of new strategies and initiatives.
• Industry and competitive analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape. Provide insights and recommendations to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Team leadership: Manage and develop project teams, with the potential for direct management. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional growth and ensure high-quality deliverables.

What you need to have: 

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and data analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data visualization tools and business intelligence software is a plus
• Knowledge of strategic frameworks and methodologies
• Strong business acumen and understanding of industry trends and best practices

• Proven experience in strategic planning, business analysis, or a related role. Experience in management consulting is highly desirable.
