Senior Sales Strategy Analyst, Cambridge UK)

As Senior Sales Strategy Analyst here at Illumina you will play a key role in enabling the sales organisation to achieve strategic initiatives and drive productivity. You’ll have the opportunity to drive standardisation and continuous improvement in systems, processes, and business operations to achieve sales objectives. You will support insights driven decision making by driving adoption of analytical resources into sales users’ daily operations. Works closely with Europe Commercial Operations counterparts on activities required to administrate a successful Sales Process.

Please note that this is a hybrid role, with 2-days per week required onsite in Cambridge, UK.

Why You:


You will be able to successfully navigate and execute on the team’s strategic vision in key areas of support including, quota management, pipeline management, forecasting, territory/account management, utilization of commercial technology and ability to improve and drive efficiencies through commercial process.

You will be comfortable in approaching and partnering with key stakeholders from several different functions at multiple levels of the organization.
 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and act as a main point of contact to Europe Sales Management for 2 subregions.
  • Contributes to developing business understanding and strategy around sales forecasting, budgetary process, quota setting, territory design and sales process optimization.
  • Work closely with sales management to define optimal performance measurements and build reporting to track these priorities.
  • Proactively identify and develop opportunities for sales process improvement.
  • Advise business partners on how to best leverage reporting to drive actionable insights.
  • Works with Sales and Commercial Operations management to generate incentive mechanisms to drive desired sales activity and performance.
  • Partners with Data & Analytics to analyse sales team resourcing/sizing – makes recommendations as appropriate.
  • Prepare advanced analyses to help identify and communicate trends and drivers to the business.
  • Participates in regional/global projects relating to process improvement and/or system implementation and seen as subject matter expert.
  • Drive adoption of new commercial resources through end user education, training, and on-boarding.
  • Proactively communicate best practices, change notices, and announcements to the sales staff and sales leadership.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, critical thinking and project management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.
  • Excellent Excel skills (e.g. Power Query, Power Pivot, Advanced formulas)
  • Proficiently communicates complex concepts through written and verbal means.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Adaptable in fast-paced settings, capable of managing multiple tasks and driving innovation.
  • Skilled at presenting initiatives and solutions to diverse audiences, with the ability to influence and solve complex problems.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com and IBM Planning Analytics is a plus
  • Successful track record in Commercial Operations, FP&A, or a related commercial support role preferred.
  • Background supporting various business partners with a focus on analytics and/or operational excellence.
  • Self-guided in identification, prioritization and execution of deliverables and projects.
  • Ability to effectively lead, plan and execute on plans for process improvement.
  • Ability to evaluate solutions from both a near term and long-term perspective.
