Join our vibrant team as we seek a talented Virtual Fashion Designer to play a key role in shaping the digital fashion landscape here at Lockwood Publishing. Responsibilities: 

• Design and develop high-quality virtual clothing, accessories, hairstyles, and beauty assets incorporated into collections, aligned with current fashion trends and target audience preferences. 
• Conduct thorough trend research, analyse retail market data, and identify upcoming styles and themes to inform design concepts. 
• Translate physical fashion trends into innovative and visually appealing virtual designs, considering technical limitations and software capabilities. 
• Embrace creative challenges across a diverse range of themes, including fantasy, sci-fi, and various other thematic collections, seamlessly blending real-life trends into our in-app experiences. 
• Understanding of 3D design software (e.g., CLO3D, Marvelous Designer) to support the concepts for the creation of detailed and realistic virtual garments. 
• Familiarity with the fundamentals of texturing, including material properties, surface detailing, and texture mapping techniques (Substance Painter).  
• Collaborate with 3D modelers and texture artists to ensure seamless integration of designs into virtual environments. 
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies, particularly in AI-powered design tools, and explore their potential application in virtual fashion creation. Midjourney experience is a plus.  
• Maintain a strong understanding of garment construction principles and translate them effectively into the virtual realm. 
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and actively contribute to the creative vision of the team. 
• Effectively communicate design ideas and specifications to colleagues from various departments. 
• Demonstrate styling capability in dressing characters for our marketing materials, ensuring they accurately reflect the desired aesthetic and appeal to our target audience. 

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field, providing a solid foundation in design principles, garment construction, textile print placement, and fashion history. 
• A strong portfolio showcasing creativity, technical skills, and the ability to translate trends into compelling virtual designs is essential. 
• Previous experience in fashion design or a related field, whether through internships, freelance projects, or entry-level positions, is highly valued.  
• Proficiency in digital illustration software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe illustrator, is required.  
• Experience with AI Design tools, preferably Midjourney. 
• Understanding of industry-standard design software, including 3D design software like CLO3D, Marvelous Designer, is desirable but not required.   
• Candidates should stay updated on current fashion trends and consumer preferences, with the ability to translate market trends into virtual designs effectively.  
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are necessary to work effectively in a team environment and convey design ideas to colleagues from various departments.  
• A genuine passion for fashion and creativity, along with a willingness to push boundaries and explore new ideas in the virtual fashion industry, is essential. 
• Optional specialized courses or certifications in areas such as virtual fashion design, 3D modelling, or digital illustration are desired but not required.
