The position of Senior Designer requires a versatile and multi-skilled person who alongside being a talented designer who can focus on the management and delivery of a multitude of campaigns is also someone who relishes the opportunity to coach and develop others. In this role, you will manage a team of 2-3 and report directly to the Creative Lead.  

The team: 

Operating within the Marketing CoE, (Centre of Expertise) the Creative Team is a collection of talented creative designers who handle the ownership, development, and execution of the Octopus visual identity. They work across a wide collection of multi-channel campaigns & media alongside digital & content to create inspiring creative campaigns and content for the Brand.  The Creative Team is a creative & innovative hub to support all design requirements across Octopus Investments (and some Octopus Group requirements). 

What will you be doing? 

• A great designer. Being a creative thinker and strong designer is a core requirement. We are a small team who do a diverse range of design projects: digital, print, branding, UX, idea generation, simple video editing, and more. Adobe skills are key, and some Figma knowledge would be a plus. 

• Management experience. We want to find someone who cares deeply about guiding other designers on the team and helping in their career progression. We are looking for someone who will be a positive addition to the team dynamic, helping to boost morale and keep energy levels high as we work together. They also need to be capable of supervising and managing projects and being a go-to support for the Creative Lead with day-to-day management. 

• A proactive attitude. We are looking for someone who not only does the job that is asked of them, but someone who actively helps improve how we work and feels comfortable speaking their mind. • Passionate about design impact. We're after someone who is excited about design's ability to influence and take clients on a journey. They will need to be a natural storyteller, skilled at translating briefs into captivating narratives. But it's not just about creativity – we want them to have awareness of how their campaigns perform in the real world. They will keep a close eye on what the competitors are doing and make sure we stay innovative with our approach to creative work. 

Qualifications

Ideally, you’ll have: 

✅ Proven experience delivering creative work across a variety of channels – we are looking to see a portfolio full of beautiful, impactful work that has delivered real-world results. 

✅ Experience managing creative designers and artworkers, creating a high-performing and enjoyable place to work with the ability to mentor talent, supplying clear direction and actionable feedback. 

✅ Experience maintaining the brand standards for a business with the ability to work within the scope of brand guidelines whilst always looking to give the best possible creative solution. 

✅ Able to collaborate effectively with other teams to deliver exceptional results. 

✅ Able to identify and act on creative opportunities for business growth. 

✅ Able to project manage and prioritise multiple projects and stakeholders at any one time, with a passion for experimental thinking when approaching complex briefs. 

✅ A proven track record in digital design and how to integrate across multi-channel brand and campaign work.
