THE ROLE

We think about support differently at Unit: we measure success by how many product improvements we generate, not only by how many tickets we resolve. The Support team is a critical and highly visible function at Unit, ensuring that we provide excellent service to our customers and that our product improves each time. 

We’re hiring a Support Engineer to join our growing team and own a wide range of client-facing responsibilities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take on significant responsibility from Day 1, and make an immediate and continuous impact at Unit for our customers.

For the right candidate, this is a rare opportunity to help build an industry-defining company from the ground up. The role is based in New York City.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate technical issues and communicate solutions to customers

  • Work with our Engineering and Product teams to resolve complex customer issues

  • Help clients implement technical changes to their program

  • Identify opportunities for product improvements, escalate them to Unit’s Product team, and track them to completion

  • Develop new self-service and automation tools for the support team and clients. 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2+ years of experience working directly with APIs; other coding/testing experience is a plus. 

  • 1+ years of experience in a client-facing role; startup or scaling experience is a plus

  • Education: B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience; 

  • A self-motivated problem-solver - you’re a quick learner, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast paced and ambiguous environments

  • An ownership mentality and passion for providing outstanding experiences to customers

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts

  • Passion for fintech - you’re curious by nature and excited to learn about how technology will impact the rapidly evolving fintech ecosystem. Industry experience is a plus. 

COMPENSATION

The base salary for this role is expected to be $90,000 - $120,000 per year. In addition, employees at Unit can expect generous benefits and may be eligible for equity and/or variable compensation. The final offer will be determined by factors including experience level, expertise, and location.
