About the Opportunity

 

Westinghouse Electric Canada is a leading supplier of custom equipment, process systems and engineering consultant services for the Nuclear industry in Canada.  The successful candidate will join an innovative team that supports Westinghouse’s mission to provide clean energy solutions.

 

The Millwright will responsible for dismantling, assembly, installation, wiring, alignment and repair of machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, manuals and other drawings in an industrial establishment or site, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, machine tools and power tools within the time allotted by the Manufacturing Process Instruction, while adhering to Risk Assessment requirements as they apply to each operation or machine.  

 

What will you do?

Your day to day: 

  • Adhere to all Risk Assessment requirements for the equipment being used.
  • Writing Risk Assessments
  • Consistently deliver acceptable results within the time allowed.
  • Contribute to Tool Box talks and other communications.
  • Group leadership skills for managing large projects
  • Maintain required records of assembly and test operations.  

 

What will you bring?

Who you are: 

  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling of materials, and the ability to recognize unsafe situations.
  • Has a recognized Trade Certificate or documented evidence of equivalent experience.
  • Documented crane operator training.
  • Ability to weld a variety of metals including most varieties of carbon and stainless steels in a variety of processes would be an asset.
  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Ability to build foundations and install machines, using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.
  • Proven experience using all standard Millwright tools and equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain industrial equipment
  • Knowledge of basic electrical industrial wiring would be an asset.
  • Operate engine lathe and other machine tools to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
  • Communicate with others (peers, Supervisors and subordinates); speaking; talking to others to convey information effectively.
