Primary Purpose:
Maintains and increases business levels with customers, short lines, ports, TBTs, and Third party reloads  in a designated operating Division in order to grow contribution for Norfolk Southern. Leads other FSMs on a Division team.
 

Principal Duties:

  • Develop and maintain sales pipeline in ConnectNS (Salesforce).
  • Drive Industrial Development projects within assigned territory with technical ID support
  • Maintain and grow relationship with individual short lines.
  • Shape customer behavior to maximize the value of Norfolk Southern’s transportation product.
  • Develops close working relationship with Division Transportation leadership.
  • Provides accurate and timely reports regarding market and customer specific conditions, including operational conditions.
  • On-board new customers as necessary.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Division operating plan especially as it impacts asset utilization.
  • Assists other departments as necessary in achieving goals to meet or exceed customer expectations.

 

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 3-5 years Preferred Level: 6-10 years

 

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (MBA, BBA). 

Preferred Majors: Business Administration and Management/Marketing Management and Research/Transportation Operations and Logistics
