What you do 

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Governance UK to join the UK Executive Team at a time of significant growth and change. 


As the Head of Governance UK you will have a broad remit of responsibilities, driving cross-functional governance alignment and implementation across all areas of the business, ranging from operational areas such as claims handling and sales and services, to finance and HR processes.

 

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Responsible for successful implementation of the new governance framework in the UK, ensuring cross-functional alignment; 
  • Overall responsibility for localization and implementation of Group governance framework;
  • Close collaboration with risk and compliance to identify and address wider governance needs;
  • Define and monitor governance KPIs at cross functional level;
  • Establish network of functional governance officers and oversee their progress and output;
  • Credibly challenge the 1st line activities based on KPI review and monitoring.

 

What you bring 

 

  • Professional with insurance sector experience in relevant functions (Corporate Governance, Operations/Process Improvement, Audit, Risk, Compliance)
  • CII qualified (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in designing governance processes, operational standards and guidelines, and driving its implementation (preferred)
  • Strong insurance experience with a strong cross-functional understanding.
  • Strong Stakeholders management including across multiple functions
  • Compliance / Risk experience with a good understanding of UK regulatory requirements.
  • Strong project management experience
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Pro-active and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Professional approach and delivery of work product.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, persistence and adaptability.
  • Ability to influence and lead others.
  • Focus on timely delivery of quality outputs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
