High school diploma/GED plus three (3) years of experience in one or more maintenance craft disciplines (e.g., electrical, HVAC, plumbing, civil, carpentry).
EEI CAST Test Administered.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, procedures, plant drawings and diagrams.
Knowledge of APS and Palo Verde standards and requirements.
Nuclear requirement:
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.
1) HVAC focus:
installs, maintains and repairs HVAC systems and equipment up to and including chillers, air handlers, split-systems and rooftop air conditioners.
Diagnoses and troubleshoots electrical and mechanical HVAC equipment failures.
Cleans, inspects and adjusts HVAC systems.
2) Coordinates and works with other maintenance personnel and departments when necessary to complete job assignments.
3) Documents completed work activities as required by station work control procedures.
4) Completes on-the-job and formal training programs to achieve qualifications needed to work on plant equipment and systems at a nuclear generating station.
5) Must demonstrate ability to successfully accomplish tasks independently.
6) Performs Outage maintenance craft duties during Palo Verde refueling operations as needed.
Testing Information
Tests are only administered to referred candidates. More information about our tests and the testing process can be found HERE.
A test using a computer with keyboard will be administered.

Plant/Field Role:
This position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site, due to the nature of work.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon for random Fitness For Duty Testing (FFD) during scheduled working hours. Employees must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
