Welcome to Wärtsilä UK! For our Metallurgic Repair shop in Glasgow, we are looking for a mechanic to strengthen our team.
As a propeller repair mechanic, it is your responsibility to repair all kinds of ship propellers, whether it is a fixed blade propeller or a single blade, you ensure that our customer sails again as soon as possible. You will work internationally on construction sites throughout the whole world and in our workshop in Glasgow you will not do this alone, together with professionals such as Propulsion field service engineers, divers, service coordinators and so on, we will deliver what we promise.
How are you going to do that? You have to understand metal, weld it, shape it, smooth it until it's as good as new.
For each assigned project, you can use Wärtsilä manuals, drawings and fixed measurement/repair procedures. For experienced Technicians, we can offer the opportunity to work independently on your own assigned projects. Junior/trainee mechanics are supervised by one of our experienced colleagues.
What are your main tasks and responsibilities?
What do we expect from you?
More importantly, what can you expect from us?
We do excessive training on site so don’t be afraid if not all above mentioned requirements are met, apply and let’s discuss the opportunities.
