Job Descrption

Overview

All who are selected to participate in CFR’s Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program receive training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs as well as skills training in writing, research, program planning, and much more.The DC Video intern will have the opportunity to learn more about publishing and editorial strategy. They will develop their skills in using journalistic databases, implementing online Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and online research for trending topics. The intern will build skills in working cohesively with a team, bolster their research and writing skills, and learn more about social media through training and practice.CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.CFR’s summer internship program gives interns the opportunity to choose whether to work in our office in a hybrid capacity (half in the office, and half remote), or on an offsite fully remote basis.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

• Support the digital content department

• Support efforts in publishing event videos on YouTube and CFR.org• Aid in the production of reoccurring explainer videos and standalone new video projects

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with a concentration in international relations, political science, history, journalism, video production, or media studies
  • All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
  • Previous administrative, journalism, web, and multimedia experience is a plus
  • Basic interest in SEO, Google Trends, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop
  • Additional language skills preferred, but not required
  • Keen eye for detail, eager to learn, strong reserach skills, understanding of social media, and interest in storytelling

Pay Rate

$17.00 per hour
