Red Bull UK are recruiting for a Sports Communications Specialist FTC 6 Months to be based in London, UK.
The Sports Communications Specialist is responsible for playing a supporting role in all aspects of our communications plans across Sport with a strong focus on Motorsports events and athletes (F1, 2-wheel, 4-wheel) taking place across the Summer 2024 schedule. They will work directly with colleagues in the Communications team, but also more broadly with the wider Red Bull UK marketing department including the Programming, Content, Sports, Brand and Commercial Partnerships team,s. They will be responsible for growing brand love by engaging new and existing consumers with authentic, innovative, and engaging storytelling linked to our Sports assets (Athletes, Events, Content projects, etc…) as well as building relationships with key media partners and influencers. They will be responsible for designing and delivering a year-round communications plan, informed by their passion and knowledge of the audiences and media landscape within. They will also contribut to new athlete project and event ideas for 2025 and beyond.
Key success factors
Delivery of targeted, quality media coverage around Red Bull’s sports events, athletes and content projects.
Innovative use of media channels and tactics across Earned, Managed and Owned channels, reaching consumers in the right places with the right content.
Working with athletes to talk credibly about Red Bull product usage within Sport generally, in both training and competition.
Setting, tracking and regular reporting of KPIs, keeping us on the path to success while tapping into insight to evolve approach as required.
Communication
Identify, develop, and activate communications activities to raise awareness of and leverage Red Bull’s Events, Athletes, Content and International Series in general sports
Create engaging content and stories from athletes for placement in both Earned media as well as Red Bull owned and managed channels (e.g. The Red Bulletin, redbull.com, Red Bull social channels).
Activity includes production and distribution of editorial content including photography and moving images (online media and broadcast), in addition to management of agencies to help drive Earned coverage.
Identifying opportunities and building relationships with key media partners and influencers across the Sports landscape.
Ensure all media coverage is captured and KPIs set and tracked to be evaluated to guide future priorities.
Collaboration
Collaborating with Red Bull Media House colleagues within wider network group (Programming and Moving Image) to drive network growth and deliver on marketing objectives.
Responsible for coordination and communication of all playground activities.
Holistic calendar planning in cooperating with Programming team, including identifying assets (events, athletes) from the wider world of Red Bull to leverage for network growth.
Established as the clear first point of contact for playgrounds activity within the wider marketing department and the global business.
Athlete Development & Strategy
You will be responsible for driving athlete development and media strategy
Ownership of relationships with athlete roster, building rapport and trust to understand their personal goals.
Collaborating with Athlete Managers to develop long term media strategies.
Working with athletes themselves to raise their profile, deepen their association with Red Bull and communicate their usage of our product in key occasions.
Knowledge of and passion for Sport generally in the UK and beyond, with a particular focus on all motorsport sectors.
Experience of activating communications campaigns for sporting events with solid media contacts.
Appetite for driving innovation in an evolving media landscape.
Experience of working with athletes/sports teams.
Creative, organised, driven and results orientated.
Adaptable and flexible to change at short notice.
