The RealReal is looking for a Vice President, Acquisition Marketing to join our team. This Vice President  will oversee a team of performance marketing channel managers responsible for the various channels that The RealReal uses for paid advertising (including but not limited to TV, OTT, CTV, SEM, OOH, Display, Affiliates, Direct Mail and Social) as well as SEO. 

The team plans the media mix for The RealReal acquisition activities, builds sophisticated attribution models and methodology, and executes the plan. This individual will develop the performance marketing strategy to help achieve our goals for both sides of our marketplace and test aggressively to find the best ways to acquire new customers and consignors. This role is a critical member of the Marketing leadership team to drive business results for the company.  You will work closely with numerous stakeholder teams including finance, product, merchandising, creative, and analytics.

What You Get To Do Every Day

  • Lead a group of team members to allocate, invest, and optimize the performance media budget across all channels to meet our business targets
  • Build a culture of high velocity experimentation and rigorous measurement
  • Accountable for new consignor and buyer growth of the company 
  • Responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and campaign management of all performance marketing in partnership with internal direct reports 
  • Utilize data-driven methodology, analysis, and measurement to improve effectiveness and efficiency of our performance channels
  • Work closely with analytics and data science partners to build a world-class performance marketing engine across tracking, attribution, and optimization
  • Oversee campaign management and reporting, including in-depth analytics of LTV, CPA, ROI, and incrementally
  • Innovate and implement tests and learn strategies and drive scalable results. Develop and pioneer recommendations of new tactics and strategies to test through our paid digital media efforts
  • Mentor the talented individual contributors and leads on your team to grow their own analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Closely manage a sizeable marketing budget to drive The RealReal’s strategy and business goals, maximizing profitability of the performance marketing spend

What You Bring To The Role
Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years experience in acquisition marketing and performance / growth marketing with direct oversight of SEM, SEO, TV, display, retargeting, paid social, and funnel optimization (preference for marketplace experience) 
  • 5 years or more of people management experience
  • Track record of growing marketing investment on a measurable basis at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to work and influence decision makers in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
  • Exceptional problem solving, and analysis skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate findings to all levels throughout the organization
  • Willingness to be deep in the details while also being able to create and communicate higher level strategy
  • Experience managing and allocating a large marketing budget
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Highly analytical with demonstrated ability to analyze and get insights from marketing and attribution data

The expected salary range for this role is $250,000  - $275,000. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
